Tile showers

Walls, floors and niches, with a waterproof layer behind the tile.

The waterproofing behind the tile is what decides whether a shower lasts twenty years or fails in three. It goes on the walls and floor first, then the tile.

Niches and feature panels are planned with the tile layout, so the courses line up and the frame trim meets cleanly at the corners.

Drawing of a recessed shower niche with a hexagon mosaic back, framed all round by a mitred marble trim, the wall tile courses lining up with its top and bottom.
Framed like a pictureNiches and feature panels get a mitred frame trim. The corners meet at clean 45° joints, and the wall courses line up with the top and bottom.
Cutaway drawing of a shower wall built up in layers: studs, cement board, a brass-coloured waterproof membrane, combed mortar, then marble-look tile with a framed panel.
The layer behind the tileTile and grout aren't waterproof on their own. The waterproof layer, shown in brass, goes on first; it decides whether a shower lasts twenty years or fails in three.

Bathroom floors and walls

Floors, wainscots and full walls, from one room to the whole bathroom.

Bathroom floors need a flat, solid base. We check it before the first tile goes down.

Walls are laid out so the cuts at each end match, with trims and liners where two tiles meet.

Kitchen backsplashes

Subway tile to tall slab-look panels, cut clean around outlets and windows.

A backsplash changes the whole look of a kitchen, usually in a day or two.

The layout and the cuts around outlets and window edges are what make it look right, so we plan where the pattern ends before we start.

Floors and patterns

Large-format, herringbone, basketweave and thin brick.

Tile and stone go down on a properly prepped, level base, so the edges sit flat underfoot.

Patterns like herringbone start from a centre line, so the cut pieces at both edges come out the same.

Laid out from the centreHerringbone and borders start from a centre line, so the pattern sits square in the room and the cut pieces at both edges match.

Repairs and restorations

Cracked tile, failing grout, water damage and floors that were never installed right.

We find out what caused the failure before repairing it, so the fix holds.

If a matching tile can be found, we replace the damaged pieces. If not, we'll tell you the options straight.

What to send us

  • A close photo of the damage
  • A photo of the whole room
  • Any spare tiles you still have
